Alcoholic drink... I've never had much absinthe before. The Baron kept some but it was more for collection than anything -- plenty of rumours and things surrounding the nature of absinthe. Banned in some places because of it. The green hue. Where the old gods dwell. I shouldn't have told you anything.

[ Pickles frowns a little and holds onto his arm again. ]

My apologies, M...r. Pickles. [ He kind of started and now he has to commit to that. Well honestly lately these days he's been almost calling him Mr. anyway. You truly are the world's most respectable dog. ] What were we talking about again?

[ And then there was some tangent about absinthe that Pickles wasn't aware of. ]

Why do I feel like this keeps happening to you an awful lot?

[ This is like, the third sorta adjacent Pickles transformation in less than two weeks. He distractedly pats his cheek. Pickles's (face). The neighbourhood kid that's gone off to college energy from Pickles honestly. ]

I wouldn't know how to observe you in terms of dogs [ because they're all cute obviously, ] but you have good features as a human. I'm sure you're popular.

[ Pickles blinks and his eyes wander as he thinks. ]

I never had opinions on how humans looked unless it was detrimental to me.

[ Stinky, take a bath, etc ]

But... I do not enjoy being popular.

No? No... I guess not. You haven't come off as that sort of person. [ Or dog. Whatever. ] I do agree a quiet life would probably be best...

They're all asking me to go here or there. But I don't suppose you see them, just me going crazy.

[ Pickles wonders for a moment and draws a rubix cube in the sand. He is doing his best to try and make it seem colorful by thinking very hard about it. ]

[ And then he's watching Pickles draw some kind of weird-ass grid cube in the sand. ]

[ What is that. Apparently it won't be invented on real world Earth for another 32 years. ]

[ Pickles holds it in his hands. ]

This is a puzzle cube that is invented in my future. People who come from a future time had shown them to me and I was intrigued. It really keeps them busy. You have to spin the rows and columns to have a singular color on all sides of the cube.

[ Do we have a cube with colour or a cube with various shades of beige. SAD BEIGE CUBE? ]

Seems a bit hard to play with paws... but now is as good of a time as ever to indulge in it.

Sorry for the trouble... really. You've been getting the brunt of my little complaints here and there, I feel like.

[ Mildly going at it with this Rubik's Cube to get the kind of hang of it, and also because Pickles... he's got his eyes on it... ]

I am glad that you do. It helps me feel better about myself for the sake of my ego, but to see you content or satisfied is also something that I want. It is rather difficult to do as a dog, because I cannot speak my thoughts clearly.

I don't think that's egotistical of you, or anything. It's very kind of you to say it.

[ He has to think about how to phrase it because he'd like to avoid sounding pitiful, but. ]

I've never... I don't hear it, very often.

In that case, I hope you hear that more often while you are here. Many people seem kind. At the very least, Marina seems attached to you.

She doesn't know much about me. I don't know much about her. I barely know her any longer than I know the rest of you, actually.

It's impressive, how well everyone's gotten along while like that.

Yes. I believe you have once said that you knew her for three days before coming here. Even so, it seems most of us are some sort of social species. "United we stand", or something like that.

[ He gently pats Daan's shoulder. ]

Is it rare for people to not get along from your experience?

It's not really that. Most are friendly enough. Even in that hellish city... only two among us were outright hostile -- and one other... well, she had a bone to pick with me for some reason, but she was cooperative enough when it came to our mutual survival.

I don't know, I don't find it odd exactly. Just... something to think about. Do you not?

About whether people get along? ... I am admittedly quite sheltered and may not have seen as much as you have, but I always believe that relationships are always complex. They are not always what they seem, but... I suppose critical thinking always comes into play, no matter the subject.

[ He slightly tilts his head as he continues to watch the cube. ]
