[ He feels for Pickles. He really does. Only now do I realise every time I type Pickles's name in my phone my keyboard helpfully suggests a 🥒, love it. ]
What exactly does an arcanist do that makes people treat them that way?
[ The puppy says as a dog arcanist, it is fond of both. Coexistence between mankind and arcanists was the norm before, but it doesn't remember how it came to be. ]
Can't entirely say that's exactly the norm for me. People talk about the occult all the time, but seeing any real proof of it is rare -- a drop in the bucket for every rumour and hack that claims they can do it.
Unless you're in the Vatican City, but that place basically built itself on all that.
[ The natural instinct to pet is so strong today, weird! He really has gotten fairly comfortable with petting Pickles by now. Far cry from the initial time when he pet the dog so uncertainly. ]
[ Sometimes affection is here for distraction and the petting is welcome too. Anyway, he will try with this translator one more time. Higher power help him if it doesn't. ]
Woof, woof.
[ The puppy says that Dani has been here for ten days, doesn't have an owner, and eats flesh.

Awoo...
[ The puppy says Dani eats meat.
...
Pickles gives up. ]

[ Just going to ignore the translator for Pickles's sake. ]
This island looks like it's overall pretty focused on self-efficiency. I don't think anyone is even looking after the actual animals there.
Not that I think human intervention is necessary for nature to thrive, but...
[ Huh. ]
Did she seem to have a personality?

Woo...
[ The puppy says that she is very friendly and energetic.
Pickles doesn't smack the translator this time, so maybe it's right. ]

[ They ARE still in cultland. ]
...I realise we're lacking pretty bad in any sort of outside contact still.

[ The puppy says she reminds it of Wendy, but Wendy is much better.
... ]

[ I only played R1999 for like a month so idr a Wendy but I just hope it's actually just the Wendy's girl. ]
no subject
[ The puppy says that Wendy is a fellow dog that it lives with—friendly, energetic, pland passionate.
Flashback to w0 mingle about Wendy confessing to Pickles 30 times and counting. ]

That's nice. I'm glad you have others you like around.
Also an arcanist?
no subject
[ The puppy says it doesn't know any other dog arcanists. ]

[ It's a lonely world out there... ]
no subject
[ The puppy says it doesn't have strong feelings on there being another dog arcanist. ]
no subject
Still don't know much, or understand what it's like being an arcanist, but it's something you're just born into, right?
Sometimes it's nice to have someone who kinda gets it.
no subject
[ Pickles sighs.
The puppy thinks it would be nice, but it's hard to have hopes when being born as an arcanist would normally mean you are shunned from society. ]

Woof. Woo...
[ The puppy says arcanists wield arcanum and are typically aligned with the imaginary fantasy, while mankind aligns itself with science.
He snorts. He thinks it's dumb... ]
no subject
Well... I can see that logic in things...
[ It's kind of like occult versus medicine with Daan. So, he gets the picture. ]
Not really a fan of getting roped into magic stuff, but I wouldn't say I'd treat someone lesser for it.

Pickles goes to nudge his leg a little with his head. Here is some prime nuzzling affection for you, Daan. ]

Pickles finally looks relaxed. ]

That is pretty weird.
...
Aren't dogs usually carnivores? What flesh is she eating... Why did that thing give you such a hard time just to say that...
[ It is always infinitely more ominous to replace words with flesh. ]
no subject
Awoo...
[ The puppy would like to say that she specifically said that instead of meat.
