I just find it odd that Karlach would be the second-most voted with everything considered, don't you think?
I was able to scry the vote spread, who voted for whom. It was thirty minutes before the end, and the voting count was only about half at the time, but...
A majority were in consensus. Most voted for Caelus.
The only individual naming Karlach at the time was Caelus himself.
Figures. I'd ask, but the rules prevent me from asking exactly who.
[ They'd just boil I guess??? ]
Anyway, I've tried to make ahead of some studies of monsters with the academy. [ How many times has he almost nodded off trying to read all these damn books. Multiple. ] Caelus was likely a gumiho, based on his features, correct?
No. Wasn't really interested in looking for them, so...
[ And now they're dead. ]
Out of the abilities I'm aware of, or suspect they exist, nothing strikes me as seeming foxlike in particular. Animal transformation, perhaps. Or the creation of evidence, given the gumiho's supposed illusory properties?
The nature of Karlach's voting leaves me curious though. There were ten for Caelus at the time I scried them, two for Robin, and a few scattered singles. Caelus was Karlach's sole vote at the moment.
This pool of powers you can get is very weird and some of it is only useful for these rituals.
[ Weirdly intentional, but that's just mg for you. ]
Huh, that'd mean Karlach would need at least two more votes to be second, doesn't it? I know that she has tried to pose being the easy throwaway vote. Not sure if that's what happened here.
Yes. I'd misunderstood the idea and thought I could use it to create or call over a missing piece of evidence during the previous week's ritual trial, but it turns out that it doesn't necessarily mean it's useful evidence. It's just to create evidence, point-blank, and it can be anything. Seems like something that would benefit the one doing the murdering more than someone trying to solve it.
Of course, people can change their minds in the last minute, but it just seems like a very bizarre choice to be voting for Karlach when Caelus was very obviously afflicted. Even if we imagine that his friends voted otherwise, it's hard to imagine it'd be more than one.
[ He's kind of saying Nina might be his only friend who's crazy enough to vote someone else, potentially in the spite-vote way help. ]
Karlach is well-liked, and it wasn't like we were in severe denial over Caelus's state. And again, the only vote towards her I saw at the time was from Caelus himself... and the gumiho, from what I've read, appears to be a rather spiteful creature.
[ Idk, it hates men or something. Unfortunately Daan is not that well-versed in mythos so I have to scrape the superficial surface of my brain for gumiho stereotypes. So, as of right now, his theory is gumiho is either evidence creation or possibly the duplication of votes. ]
There's something else I got from talking to Lavi. Kanda had some white strands which weren't there before, then was gone after trial. The thought was that it might have been an intentional scapegoat.
Well, we seem to have missed a second this week...
Has he noticed anything else strange or different about Mr. Kanda? It would still make sense for Caelus to attempt to plant false evidence on someone else like this, assuming either power is likely.
It's worth saying that I know that evidence creation exists for certain, while multiple vote-weight is entirely conjecture.
Seeing that Kanda was in the footprint pool for Marina, it seems like a good theory. Or it could be someone else trying to help Caelus because they're close?
[ Since there are more reasons to maybe help someone live since monsters can kind of chill. ]
When you had the power, would you be able to plant evidence with intention? Or would it be random?
It's not like anyone knew about the strands, so... I don't think Lavi checked on Friday and it showed up so late in Saturday. It could have been there the whole duration of trial. It just definitely disappeared at the end.
I am definitely for being pushy!

[ Daan... He hops over like a cat does when it's overly familiar. ]
Caelus. Why?

Off tangent, did you get a notice that your match died last week?

Yes, to both of those things.
[ Well it wasn't a Notice but yeah. ]

Right, right! Yeah. I think he would be a gumiho! They're like kitsune, but I think they always have nine tails.

It would be that I could place it with intention.
