I'm not very religious and I'm not interested in giving a whole rundown on Buddhism, but it isn't really worshiping a god. Tengen definitely fits leader in this context, but you know how cults are. I'm not interested in wishes from a crazy cult wanting to sacrifice a group of people and a dog, so I didn't really pay that much attention to the details... But I'm pretty sure having all their wishes come true comes with it.

However, some people might have something personal they're pretty desperate to make come true. In which case, partnership to become stronger might not seem like a big deal, especially if strength will help us escape...
But if one or both of them become altered, then it's a bigger mess for the rest of us.
