[ Hello ma'am. Daan is in the cabin, where he's just putting together something on the table. It appears to be a medical kit of some sort, and he's putting in more strips of cloth in there.
He has a blanket over his shoulder but he can only cover up so much with one especially when the text has an awful tendency to bleed through his clothes. Guess that'd be too easy because he is covered from neck down entirely otherwise.
You might be able to glean a bit of whisping text that reads things like ALWAYS WATCHING, YELLOW EYES, POCKETCAT on what little space is visible, coming and going like they're stray thoughts. Though otherwise, he does seem preoccupied a bit with his current task. ]
[ probably doesn't help when a gold-eyed cat is watching this all happen from nearby, perched on one of the beds (you don't sleep here, what are you doing) with tail swishing low. she wrinkles her nose a little before she finally makes herself known, loudly, despite the quiet creep she did moments earlier. ]
[ Probably not, but it's funny regardless. He jumps a little -- oh, lord. He'd been doing his best to ignore that being-watched feeling, because sometimes you spend a little too long ignoring it and end up accidentally ignoring something real. ]
-- Ah. Miss Izutsumi...
[ When did you get in here. He stops his busywork and pulls the blanket a little tighter around himself. ]
[ slides out from her seat, coming to peer over at the fabrics and pokes at some of the things with a clawed finger. ]
Your kit. If you don't do healing magic, this is the old-fashioned way of doing it.
[ any other goodies in here outside basic stuff... she is nosey, but she isn't swiping anything at least. though peeking at his blankie... you good, bro... ]
Ah -- please be careful. I need some things to remain as sterile as possible...
[ Her little clawsies. She can visually see it's bandages, ointments, bandaids. There is an old kind of ratty eyepatch off to the side, and the one on his face looks pretty new. ]
...Physical medicine isn't exactly any older than otherworldly rites. They're much more reliable than asking the gods to do it...
...
But I'm guessing it works differently where you're from.
[ staring at the old ratty one... dude that doesn't seem sterile. "it's off on the side" not sterile!! still, she begrudgingly moves to cross her arms, no more touchy. ]
Most people have a healer in their parties. Or go visit places that have mages capable of healing. Just makes it easier to deal with any injuries, broken bones, limb losses, you know. Healing stuff.
[ starts to yawn, before scratching at her neck where an inky word start to show on fur saying CAGED. ] Revival is pretty normal there too if you happen to die in a dungeon.
No dungeons where you're from? [ a shrug. ] Mages describe them as alternative dimensions. Mostly just ancient ruins connected to our world. Just a place to loot and fight monsters.

Makes sense. Hard to go wrong with somebody who can fix you up, especially when on the move.
[ His expression dims and looks both conflicted and hesitant when she brings up revival though. ]
What's the cost of that?

[ it is Convenient. though she blinks at that, scratching idly at one of her ears. ]
Ehhh. It can only be done in dungeons. And you gotta make sure the body is whole or at least all there. Otherwise it complicates things or whatever.

Guess that seems reasonable enough.
[ He's not sure if he can say makes sense because he's not totally sure if it does but hey. ]
These dungeons you keep mentioning... what are those?

[ Maybe like the infamous dungeons of F&H1 but that was like, a loooong time ago. ]
...Think I heard someone passingly mention something familiar though, so maybe it's not so foreign.
