But I'm reconsidering. Since the wish isn't dependent on surviving this whole thing, there is something I want that's worth the risk.

Some people have made a counterpoint that if you don't live to see it, you'll never be able to affirm that it came true after all.

That's true. [ shrugs ] There's no guarantee it'll come true either way.

It seems kind of silly to believe in a wish, after all. This isn't a fairy tale.

But if someone really believes in it, it's hard to discourage them too.

And I don't control anyone either, so... it's really everyone else's prerogative if they want to pursue this sort of thing. At least it's not like in the case of the swamp's curios, where murder is a requisite to get what you want.
