[The true smoker amongst the faux smokers... There's a little, soft-sounding sigh in response, first.]
At this point, taking anything is keeping several people afloat, I feel. [And fears, but hey! Any way forward is a way forward... They just have to keep pressing on. He takes a sip of his drink, glancing up toward the sky.]
It's going to be difficult for them to dispatch the rest when the time comes, I think. Many of them, at least.
[Killing a monster off schedule is one thing but they're truly just going to have to start stabbing any bozo.]
[ He thinks about his fucky mindset when he was under full possession mode, the thoughts he had about how he could just do it for them all. Kill, because nobody else wants to. Take the possessed out of their misery. Put the ones at their last wits to rest. He tries to ignore the dull itch. ]
...Mm... well-wishing won't do either of us much. The best you can do is assuage them in letters that the deceased are fine and healthy, and comfort them that this all is the right decision.
We're really quite lucky that they've deigned to trust the letters at all, honestly...
[Considering there's no real evidence that it actually comes from them except for things that could be pretty easily fabricated, given the information this place already seems to have on them all.]
[DAAN IS VALID. Though he does glance over and there's a little flicker of concern.]
It seems the affliction manifested similarly to you as it did Karlach, in that case... Rather - I'm a little surprised by how different it seems to be for everyone.
Oh...? [He assumes Daan just means he's a naturally pessimistic person so he was dealing doubles, but that is such an ominous way of phrasing things.]
Well... I suppose so. "Paranoia" seemed to be one of the later emotions that was common among the afflicted, though. I don't recall experiencing much of it, myself.
I wouldn't say paranoia didn't apply to me, but I do think it's hard to discern affliction from my regular state given everything I'd been through up until that point.
[ Sometimes you see horrible cat demons in your peripheral vision by default! ]
I'm feeling more back to my old... usual self, whichever term fits best for the situation.
And distinctly lacking in any unpleasant mental effects caused by the ditto, yes. The ability was somewhat convenient, but not enough for me to wish it back.
Essentially, yes. Granted, I feel like the timing of my boons could've been better, but glad I could help fill out the remaining of your handy list once I got here.
The only ability I feel I was able to make full usage out of was the golem's. Everything else, I either didn't feel inclined to or it was effectively useless for what I wanted to achieve -- such as gaining the bloodthirst curse, or becoming able to fabricate evidence.
Oh... [HIS BLOODTHIRST CURSE he's tired.] Yes, it does seem as though there were quite a few abilities that were specifically designed to be harmful or a nuisance. Unsurprising, given the source, but...
[STOP IT'D BE SO FUNNY i should have buttdialed it in during my kill.]
A good thing, indeed... As far as good fortune goes, it does feel a bit strange to say "I'm quite lucky that this or that thing didn't happen while a monster was possessing me", but it's very true. For my part, I'm glad that the ability I had was relatively useless for my monster...
[It would have been so funny though. SO FUNNY. i aki think that, Lucas just thinks it was gross.]
There's a little soft huff of laughter and a faint feeling of wry amusement.]
That's true. Many of us since long before this place, I suppose. [When being kidnapped by a cult is just a continuation of your cult life or your kidnapping life or your cult kidnapping life or the 50 other flavors of bullshit going on here.]
A rest would be nice, for everyone. Though I suppose that's what Wednesday was for.
[DON'T BECOME HAROLD or do and join larry karl beth and dad]
It was... And I do agree. [He could barely manage it over here but it had been such a healing experience.] They seemed to hold themselves together well enough during theirs, but their energy is certainly dropping.

Given everything, I wouldn't have put it past more cruel torments and fake flickers of hope.
...
But of course, could've just been the affliction speaking.

[ Dropping his gaze a little, looking at some nondistinct corner. ]
After all, in a sense, I was doubled up on it and while my skepticism would've possibly been less, but nonetheless remained.

Ah. ...Well. [WELL!!!!] Perhaps it just takes advantage of the feelings you may have already been harboring, in that case...
no subject
...I'd say that's likely, yes...
no subject
...That and the bloodthirst, I suppose. [HE'S ASSUMING THAT ONE WAS UNIVERSAL AT LEAST.]
no subject
Well, anyway. I assume you're free of it now.
no subject
[Of the monster bloodthirst... anyway......]
As you are, certainly? Given our ties are all severed.

And distinctly lacking in any unpleasant mental effects caused by the ditto, yes. The ability was somewhat convenient, but not enough for me to wish it back.
no subject
No, the negative effects were certainly not worth any of those abilities... Yours allowed you to borrow anyone else's, correct?

A good thing in the grand measure, of course.

Small blessings, Mr. Proust. [ This is on purpose. ] We've been forced to count them where we can for a while now.

It was a surprisingly pleasant Wednesday, wasn't it?
Rewarded for drinking and dancing. Only could've happened on this side, I wouldn't have mustered the strength to over there at this point.
