it might be a trip, following along as caelus races and climbs and leaps upon that ancient machine. time and again, he's about to lose his grip or fail to make a landing, but one of his companions always has his back. so, he can't fail them.
he doesn't know why he's able to follow his own will and not the voice of the stellaron inside him. it's not fair that cocolia couldn't ward off its false promises, that she now battles on behalf of the end of her world.
she kills him. tries to. awakens, instead, a sense of preservation. caelus' end has been foretold. this isn't it.
this concludes in a daughter losing her mother, a feeling caelus will never quite understand. it hurts, anyway. bronya doesn't deserve to suffer.
not long after, it's over. caelus leans onto a gas pump because that's where they are (removes them from the void) ]
[ So here's the thing. Daan's world is crazy but you know what it isn't? Straight fantasy.
So, you know.
What the actual fuck is he watching. ]
...
Well... I declined initially because the concept of interstellar travel is a bit too much for me, but... now I think I just might be plain out of my depth against all of that.
It's what happens when a Stellaron corrupts someone. Cocolia was the Supreme Guardian. If we didn't stop her, she would have destroyed all of Belobog and its people.
We don't come from the same planet or anything like that. Miss Robin is from Penacony, a place I was visiting before we were all cultnapped. The best I can say for certain is she and I come from the same universe.
...And then Mr. Aventurine, by proxy Mr. Boothill as well...
Maybe the reach just so happens to be easier when your expanse of travel is the entire cosmos, but that's still a rather impressive coincidental chain of acquaintances.
[ Somehow not a single person here has brought up the idea of slight canon divergences / canonpoint variances, because his conversations with Marina have just so happened to not reveal anything strictly contradictory. Very funny. ]
Everyone--Aventurine, Boothill, Miss Robin--remembers more than I do. And I heard from Karlach there was something like that happening with her and Astarion. They remembered things the other didn't or had gone through the events in another order. If that's the case and there's any chance of going back to a time before Aventurine and Boothill died...
[ caelus hangs onto hope with a true hero's ridiculous desperation. ]

[ caelus can't judge anyone holding out for that last, final chance at saving someone (even if the 'someone' is a clown world or just themselves) ]
But if you want something safer--
[ another memory intervenes, to give daan a second away from caelus' concern and also because caelus is lying (unintentional).
they're flung into darkness, followed by the bright of a world enshrouded in snow, far far away.
cocolia has fallen to a stellaron.

But it is always your choice.

I'd hope not, after you extended an invitation first...
[ HELP ]
Clearly it looks like you do more than just travel around. What was all of that?

Jeez.

...A Stellaron, huh? So that means you and Miss Robin are from the same place...

They all went through more than I have, too--timeline-wise. I'm behind. Maybe it means I can help them if I escape.
[ maybe not ]

[ Kind of sounds like something straight out of sci-fi, which. I guess to be fair to Daan, he is not wrong. ]
...It'd be nice if you could.
